Mengalum Island has long been associated with voyaging of Ferdinand Magellan in Asian waters during 16th century. The link is tied to a large metal anchor located in the south- western corner of the island near the shoreline.
3D2N MOUNT KINABALU EXPLORER
Mount Kinabalu includes the Kinabalu montane alpine meadows ecoregion in the montane grasslands and shrublands biome. The mountain and its surroundings are among the most important biological sites in the world, with between 5000 and 6000 species of plants, 326 species of birds, and more than 100 mammalian species identified. Among this rich collection of wildlife are famous species such as the gigantic Rafflesia plants and the orangutan. Mount Kinabalu has been accorded UNESCO World Heritage status.
3D2N KOTA KINABALU + ISLAND EXCURSION
Meet at hotel lobby and proceed to jetty in downtown Kota Kinabalu. On arrival at jetty, board boat for a 20 minute ride to the one of the beautiful island – Sapi Island of Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. You can enjoy swimming or snorkeling in the crystal clear water along the white sandy beach to explore the tropical marine life (life jacket and snorkeling mask included).
3D2N KOTA KINABALU + KINABALU PARK HERITAGE
scenic places to visit include the Atkinson Clock Tower, the State Mosque with it's gold inlaid onion dome, known to be the largest dome of it's type in Malaysia, and the State Museum been built in 1985. Other visits include the Chinese Buddhist Temple with a huge statue of Kuan Yin and finally the handcraft center for souvenir to bring home. Proceed to Tanjung Aru Beach seaside sunset viewing (depending on the weather), you can enjoy a seafood meal or hawker meal here (own expense).
